Soloists and Featured Artists (in order of appearance)

Alan Shulman, Composer
           Mr. Shulman, composer and cellist, graduate of The Juilliard School, founding member of Arturo Toscanini's NBC Symphony Orchestra and the Stuyvesant String Quartet, in 1938, giving the American premiere of the Shostakovich Piano Quintet at Carnegie Hall in 1941. The New York Philharmonic premiered both Mr. Shulman's "A Laurentian Overture" in 1952 and his Cello Concerto. Violinist Jascha Heifetz and jazz clarinetist Artie Shaw have performed and recorded Mr. Shulman's work.

Kathleen Nester, Piccolo
           Member, New Jersey Symphony Orchestra. Ms. Nester presented her Weill Recital Hall debut in 1990 as the winner of the Artists International competition. She performed the Vivaldi Piccolo Concerto as one of the "Stars of the NJSO", member of the Stamford Symphony Orchestra and performs with the New York Philharmonic, the Orchestra of St. Luke's and New York City Opera. Ms. Nester is a member of the NYU Steinhardt School's Woodwind Faculty.

Anat Malkin Almani, Violin
           International soloist, Ms. Almani began her studies with her father, Isaac Malkin, presented her Carnegie Hall debut at 16 and has performed on Robert Sherman's WQXR Young Artists Series. Ms. Almani performs with her sister, violinist Bracha Malkin, as the Malkin Duo. Ms. Almani is a member the faculty of the Manhattan School of Music Preparatory Division. Chaconne in G minor, attributed to Tomaso Vitali, was performed by Jascha Heifetz at his Carnegie Hall debut in 1917.

Robert Barrows, Organ
           Mr. Barrows is choirmaster and music director of Grace Episcopal Church and Sarum.

Barbara Allen, Harp
           Ms. Allen, a graduate of SUNY Purchase with Masters degree from the Juilliard School, is principal harpist of American Ballet Theatre Orchestra and Greenwich Symphony; winner of 7th International Harp Competition in Israel, soloist with Caramoor and Waterloo Festivals, Greenwich Symphony and Hudson Valley Philharmonic. She has appeared with Tashi, Orpheus, St. Lukes' Chamber Ensemble, New World String Quartet and performed with the New York Philharmonic, Vienna Philharmonic and American Symphony Orchestra.

Holly Druckman, Flute
           Ms. Druckman is a student of Laura Gilbert at the Mannes Pre-College of Music. A member of the Orangetown Community Band and student producer with the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center, she performs often with her mother, Barbara Allen, and will attend Columbia University this fall.

Larry Guy, Clarinet
           Principal clarinetist with Long Island Philharmonic, Mr. Guy is former principal of Joffrey Ballet Orchestra, Metropolitan Opera Guild Orchestra and Queens Symphony Orchestra. He has performed with the New York Philharmonic, New Jersey Symphony, New York City Ballet and New York City Opera, the Orchestra of St.Luke's. Faculty member of NYU, Vassar College, the Juilliard School and the Manhattan School of Music, Pre-college Division. Quintet for Clarinet and Strings, K. 581 is known as the "Stadler Quintet," so named because Mozart composed the quintet for clarinetist Anton Stadler in 1789.

Lenore Fishman Davis, Piano
           International soloist, Ms. Davis studied at The Juilliard School then at Indiana University under Menahem Pressler of the Beaux Arts Trio. She has appeared a soloist and chamber musician in concert halls throughout the US and Europe. Her performances have been broadcast over Swiss and German Radio and television, WQXR, WNYC and PBS. In 1991, Ms. Davis founded the Arbor Chamber Music Society.

Alison Crowther, Violin
           Rockland Symphony, Adelphi Chamber Orchestra, North Jersey Symphony. Premiered "Lament and Restoration", composed for her by Ron Wasserman, Italy 2004. Melodie is an arrangement by Fritz Kreisler of Cristoph Willibald Gluck's "Dance of the Blessed Sprits" from his opera Orfeo ed Euridice.

Jerry Grossman, Cello
           Principal cellist of the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra since 1986 and founding member of the Chicago String Quartet, graduate of Curtis Institute of Music, guest artist with the Guarneri, Vermeer and Emerson string quartets. He has recorded for Deutsche Grammophon and currently teaches chamber music at The Juilliard School and Kneisel Hall Summer Chamber Music School, Blue Hill, Maine.
