A detailed record of the Trust's gifts is now available.
The Birchwood Award is an annual award to two Nyack High School graduating seniors who have demonstrated outstanding academic and athletic achievement in High School and have also made a significant committment to volunteer community service.
The award was named "The Birchwood Award" because Welles had often spoken to his friends about one day establishing a charitable foundation which he would name "The Birchwood Foundation" after the street where lived growing up. Therefore, each contribution made from the trust is called a "Birchwood Gift" or "Birchwood Award."
