Scholarships & Awards
The Birchwood Award is an annual award to two Nyack High School graduating seniors who have demonstrated outstanding academic and athletic achievement in High School and have also made a significant commitment to volunteer community service.
The award was named “The Birchwood Award” because Welles had often spoken to his friends about one day establishing a charitable foundation which he would name “The Birchwood Foundation” after the street where lived growing up. Therefore, each scholarship given at Nyack High School is called the Birchwood Award.
