The American Heroes Channel has honored Welles by using his story to exemplify a true American Hero. The “Red Bandanna Hero Award” is an opportunity to nominate someone who has distinguished him or herself through courageous or selfless actions.
The September 13th game was designated the Red Bandanna game in honor of Welles Crowther.
